I am absolutely madly in love with Ace Beaute color stories across their various palettes. 2022 is the first year that I am trying this brand - even though it has been on my radar for a good long while. For the past couple of years I have been concentrating on building my single eyeshadow empire - hehe - ok collection. So palettes were on the bottom of my wishlist. I am so glad I decided to push Ace Beaute up my my list when I saw a few of my fave YouTubers reviewing the reformulated palettes. Now four orders later and I still cannot get enough of Ace Beaute’s excellent palettes.
The Nostalgia palette I picked up in my third order from Ace Beaute. With its shadow names and bright colors, the palette offers a remembrance of sunshine days spent at the beach, at the Pier, at amusement parks, etc. Just being young and carefree - having fun getting wet, sticky and definitely dirty after a happy day of yelling your heart out, laughing till you peed your pants a little and spending time with all of your cousins. The color story is so cheerful and full of depth. Even though this is a summer themed color story via the name of the shades, I find that this palette works well for other seasons as well. There are some wonderful deep autumn looks to be had from the palette as well as some spring inspired looks from the, green, pink and yellows. I think this is one of the reason why I am drawn to this palette’s specific color story - it is very versatile. I love that the Ace Beaute’s palettes have a lot of mattes because I think they do mattes best. I have to say that Ace Beaute’s mattes are in my top three brands for mattes (across all my cherished indie brands) The shimmers are mostly good - quality wise (color wise - the shimmers are immaculate and they are vital part of Ace Beaute’s palettes beautiful color stories) . However, when I compare their shimmers to some of my other favorite iIndie brands - I find the formula to be good but not great. The Nostalgia palette has three shimmers and the other 12 shades are gorgeous mattes that lend like a drew. The three shimmers are just a tad too gritty for my comfort, especiallyHeat, the deeper berry shade. I prefer applying my shimmers with a brush - but I think these work best with fingers. All of the palette shades are not only dark skin friendly, they are very much complimentary to deep skin. This is true so far to all the Ace Beaute palettes I have. The mates are very buildable so you can achieve a variety of depth.
